Andy Corrigan

The Vice Dean serves as the chief advisor to the Dean and, in the dean's absence, acts as the director of Tulane University Libraries. The position oversees collection strategies for the Libraries and coordinates collection development across the organization. The position also heads the Libraries’ budget management team, which tracks and manages budgets and spending and works with the Dean on budget planning to align with evolving library and university goals and priorities. It carries dean's level authority for approving purchases. The Vice Dean assists in leading library space planning and serves as a primary contact for developing plans and projects.

In addition to the responsibilities above, the Vice Dean has administrative oversight over the divisions and departments of Scholarly Engagement, Technical Services, and Collections Management, including Stacks Management, a special projects team, and the Libraries’ offsite (Annex) storage facility.

Andy Corrigan was named Vice Dean in July 2024, having served as Associate Dean of Libraries since 2005. He served as interim Dean of Libraries from October 2022 to August 2023. He first joined the university in the summer of 1994. He directed the library’s recovery initiatives after Hurricane Katrina, including salvaging and replacing lost or damaged collections. As part of the eventual remediation of the library’s flooded spaces, he was the library’s project manager in the group that oversaw the FEMA-assisted construction of a 5th and 6th-floor addition atop the Howard-Tilton library building. He holds an EdD in Educational Administration from West Virginia University and an MLIS in Library and Information Science from the University of Rhode Island.
